Slides for my ISC2 Security Congress session on “Demystifying Routing Security”

Isc2-routing-security-webToday at the ISC2 Security Congress 2023 in Nashville, TN, I gave a well-received talk on "Demystifying the World of Routing Security". Unfortunately, the mobile app for the event had (and still has) the wrong set of slides. Instead of mine, the attached deck was for a 2019 talk. So I told participants I would put the slides up on one of my sites. And here they are:

As you will see, a great amount of the slides are about the Mutually Agreed Norms for Routing Security (MANRS) initiative.

Also, for people seeking info about how to be involved with the "MANRS+" effort, the link is: https://www.manrs.org/about/manrs-working-group/

Thanks to all who attended - and especially to the five who helped me with the on-stage demonstration. 😀

Brilliant Video – Every Presentation Ever: Communication FAIL

How many of the issues in this video have you experienced while in a presentation? Either one you have attended or perhaps one you have given yourself?

I learned of this today via a link in Facebook or Twitter (I can't remember which) pointing me to a post from Mitch Joel back in January titled "How To Do Everything Wrong In A Presentation". It is related to the book Habitudes for Communicators by Dr. Tim Elmore. I've not (yet) looked at this book but I'm definitely intrigued. In his post, Mitch also recommends three other books, one that I have (Presentation Zen) and two others that I've heard high praise about. All of these kind of books will only make you a better presenter... and I've added these to my queue of books to read.

Kudos to Dr. Elmore and his team for coming up with a funny and brilliant way to highlight so many of the issues we unfortunately do experience in presentations.

How many of these have you experienced?

Richard Jimmerson Speaking Today About IPv6 At Digital Home World Summit

Today our Richard Jimmerson will be speaking at the Digital Home World Summit 2012 in London on the topic of “IPv6: Preparing for the Future.”  He’ll be discussing:

  • Why the delay in deploying IPv6?
  • Fundamentals of IPv6 and pitfalls of falling behind
  • Activities businesses must undertake to ensure continued success
  • Real-world implementations and case studies

His session will be at 15:00 London time and leads off the conference segment on “Boosting the Home Environment in the Future“.  You can view the full conference agenda to see the range of topics being covered there.

As more and more network-connected devices enter the home environment, particularly with sensors and the “Internet of Things,” IPv6 will be critical in enabling all those devices to seamlessly connect with the global Internet.  We’re delighted to be speaking at this event and look forward to further such sessions at future events.
